Sometimes programs do more than just install themselves. They’ll potentially integrate with other applications on your computer as well. And sometimes they don’t play nicely.
A common issue is with Outlook plugins. Things like antivirus, anti-malware, and spam filters will commonly install an outlook plugin. So if your Outlook is crashing randomly or becomes very sluggish all of a sudden ask yourself – did I install a program that may have added an Outlook plugin?
You can check for installed Outlook plugins and disable/delete them by following these steps (for Outlook 2010):
- Click File, Options
- Click Add-Ins, then next to “COM Add-ins” click “Go…”
- Uncheck or delete items that you do not want.
- Restart Outlook and see if that fixes the problem.
